The little sight that carried me into Hakone proposed circuitous through cloudy mountains. The trees were thick and a haze was rolling in. we had a feeling that it would stay wet, moody, and sincerely perfect. It had that pressure that made you feel like it would sojourn like that for a few days, and it did.

Before we get on sight rides, we have a smashing but dangerous robe of loading up with pastries. Train stations appear to have good little selections of all sorts of unfamiliar twists on the common subjects. And, since we cruise myself an explorer, we suspicion it would be good to get a TON of pastries and try them all. It’s very nice… sitting there… seeking out the sight window at a new land… sleet falling… eating pastries… (and I’m only a little abashed to contend that, on arrival, my fritter bag was empty.)
