Droplets of object filter through the dewed windows as we lift off the complicated blankets weighing me down with regard and comfort. we want to see morning warp over Khangchendzonga and the sister peaks perched tall on tip of Darjeeling. we take a sprightly showering same to a few splashes of freezing heat H2O and put on my long hiking pants, a comfortable fleece, and a hat. The roof tiles from our road house is grand with Darjeeling maturation over the shallow still shedding off the night cloak. The Himalayan sleet capped peaks gawk over the waking world. As we lay patiently watchful for the plateau forward to morph with the brightening morn, the chanters next make another double back around flitting underneath us draped with comfortable shawls and echoing the voice of their beam in song. The valleys next widespread out like swift dim messengers scheming for the dawn. we gawk on the universe next and feel myself trip into a mood that broods with concerned anticipation. The first glints of light crop up carressing the tip of Khangchendzonga as it raises good plumes of sleet as if in protest. Its night doze has been interrupted. It eventually settles into the luminescent liughtness of the

Thus ensued a 3 hour epic debate of South Mumbai at the diminutive hours of the morning–thank you YMCA for eventually carrying a room for us and appreciate you cab motorist for adhering with us until 1:30am. We woke not to chaos, but to birds singing and young kids personification soccer in the margin outward our window–not to discuss the hit on the doorway presenting us with chai tea and breakfast in bed, a veggie omlet and buttered bread. For our first day we decided to take the easy way out and follow the Lonely Planet’s (LP’s) on foot debate of Colaba and the Fort Area, though our furloughed was reduction about the sights and more about the sounds, flavors and feeling as we familiarized ourselves with our new surroundings. Entry from: Windsor, United Kingdom Entry Title: “Day Tour Part 1: Windsor Castle” Entry: “This was our most touristy day – we took a day-long train tour. Normally I’m not a air blower of train tours, nonetheless I’ve had good practice with small backpacker tours. we do use them for covering a lot of belligerent quickly, generally for places that aren’t easy to entrance around open transit. Our debate lonesome Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, and the city of Bath – we couldn’t presumably have finished all of that on our own, generally not in one day. (I did a identical debate in Ireland in 2004 so we could see the Ring of Kerry/Iveragh Peninsula.) we did feel like part of a organisation of sheep at some points, but our debate beam was very good (and had a lovely, if rsther than uppity, accent) and gave us lots of tidbits of information, which of course I’ve lost now. She also translated all she pronounced into Japanese for the good of a few members of our group. Her voice sounded rsther than sap by the end of the day! We met early, at a long-distance train hire in London. (We took a taxi to get there when a train didn’t spin up. Note on London cabbies – they aren’t undone doctors from India. All the ones we encountered were white British men.) It took a surprisingly long time to get out of the city, simply because of the size of it. The

Entry from: San Francisco, United States Entry Title: “If your going to San Francisco…” Entry: “On the way to SF we stopped at UC Davis and UC Berkley to see the campuses. Davis was carrying a graduation and was very treacherous to get around. Wasn’t many restaurants and things to do from what we saw. Too many nicer schools on the west seashore in my opinion. Next was Berkley, very good campus from the little we saw. Berkley is a small city lots of places to eat and things to do. Only censure is the parking situation, very little available and very expensive. Also a lot of trade goes in and out of there, too much for the small city too handle. SF Day 1: After navigating our road house through complicated trade over the brook overpass and almost 90 grade mountain inclines in the city we got there. We first checked out Chinatown. Chinatown is like a small city inside of the city, much bigger than NYC’s version. Makes you feel like your essentially there with all the asians using around. Blocks and blocks of shops and restaurants. We then got a 3 day trolly automobile pass that lets you get on and off at your convenience you want. Very available deliberation our road house is at one of their stops. The wire cars are great, something you gotta do when here, classical SF. We then rode it down to Fisherman’s quay and walked around a little bit. All
