Photographing Star Trails

Ever seen those cinema where the stars strain opposite the sky in a big arc? Or may be the total sky looked like it was spinning?

What you saw was star trails. The streaks were light left at the back of on the sensor or movie from the star as it trafficked opposite the sky in front of an open camera shutter. In fact, it only seems that way. What essentially being available are still stars and the revolution of the earth that creates them spin. Kinda like you were station on a vinyl jot down while it is playing. (yes, vinyl record, it is a form of very old iPod).
