CREATING ART FROM HAITI’S RUBBLE
Since the Jan earthquake, and in general, we’ve seen and listened a lot from Haiti and, unfortunately, many of those stories have been negative. Granted — Haiti’s on all sides is still pretty grim. But if theres one thing that characterizes Haitians, according to NPR photographer David Gilkey, it’s their resilience. Sculptor Andre Eugene, for example, has not only one after another to emanate art post-earthquake but essentially has been newly inspired. “Look at my art and look at Haitians,” he told Gilkey in May. “Look at my art and look at resistance, look at resilience.” He creates recycled art from bits found around town; it goes but observant that he now has more element than ever.

If we took pieces of a a Trade Towers, as well as sole it as art, it would be predatory, if we took tools of my broken area as well as kept a deduction for myself, which would be predatory.
@bangurdead102 predatory? most mislaid probably all as well as have been propitious to have something they can operate to stay up as artists as well as tellurian beings. the npr story indicated their rubble art was the reply to demand, not an try to pull reserve by stuff oneself upon people’s emotions.
I do not know it seems predatory, oh I’m a good artist, as well as right away this hideous eventuality happens boom, I’ve got survivor art, from a wrecked buildings, as well as horrors etc.
It seems predatory, though it additionally seems alright only a single of those things we suppose.
Why a black as well as white?
Another good from NPR.
